UFC 98 on May 23 features two undefeated fighters who will battle it out for the Light-Heavyweight Championship. "Sugar" Rashad Evans looks to continue his winning ways and his reign as champion against the unbeaten Lyoto "Dragon" Machida. Machida has one 6 straight fights in the UFC and is 14-0 overall in his mixed martial arts career. Evans is on a nice run as well, winning 8 out of 9 (with one draw against Tito Ortiz) in the octagon, including KO's against the likes of Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin.
I am really looking forward to this fight because I believe Machida will pick Evans apart from the opening bell until the end of the fight, whenever that may be. I have never liked Rashad, he is over-rated, has no advanced MMA skills, always looks tired in the cage and overall is just a clown. I realize he has amazing power and two of the greatest KO's in the sport, a one punch KO of "The Iceman" and a high kick KO of Sean Salmon, but all of that is negated by his attitude and little gestures he makes in the cage. I know that most, if not all, fighters do a little showboating in the cage but for some reason when Evans does it it makes my blood boil and I just wanna throw a brick at his goofy looking square head.
Machida has power, just ask Thiago Silva, and kis karate and unorthodox style will frustrate and confuse the outmatched Evans. I would love to see "The Dragon" KO Rashad but a decision is more likely. Either way it should one good title fight.
